Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is a fully licensed private hospital, provide care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional midwives, nurses, doctors and staff. 

Birthing Services has a large team providing diverse services across public and private two maternity wards, Midwifery Group Practice, Maternity in the Home, clinics and a birthing Suite which has 5 private birthing rooms – each with state of the art equipment and a bath for pain relief during labour. Midwives rotate through Birthing Suite and Maternity wards. NBH is seeking applications from experienced Midwives to work within our public and private birthing and maternity wards. We have multiple opportunities available for full and part-time positions.

As a Registered Midiwife in our private and public birthing and maternity wards, you will have a strong patient-service focus, demonstrated commitment to continued service improvement, and demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve patient care outcomes.

As a Midwife you will make an impact by:

  • providing high standards of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural groups
  • planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating midwifery care in collaboration with women, their families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and health outcomes
  • Supervising and guiding junior and undergraduate midwives in provision of midwifery care
  • working collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
  • being passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience for women and their families.   
As a high performing team member, you will possess the following:
  • Current Registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
  • Bachelor of Midwifery or Graduate Diploma in Midwifery (if Bachelor of Nursing is first qualification) or equivalent
  • Highly developed clinical skills in maternity services: birth suite/postnatal care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to family-focused approach to care
  • Flexibility to work rotating roster across 7 days.

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2015 – 2019.
