Registered Nurse - Cardiac Catheter Lab

Darwin Private Hospital is seeking applications from Registered Nurses with an interest in angiography to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team.

 About the role: 
 Join our expert team in the NT’s premier cardiac catheter facility.  The Cath Lab is a busy and dynamic unit which provides a variety of specialist services, including left and right heart procedures, angioplasty, implanted cardiac devices, cardiac electrophysiology, TOE Cardioversions and vascular interventions. It is an exciting place to work, and you will be joining a team committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Experience in Angiography or coronary care is highly regarded however we would consider training the right candidate. Our education program is well established, and we will ensure your training needs are met.  You’ll be joining a strong, innovative team, and would have the opportunity to develop and grow your cardiac skill set. 

About Us: 

Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, it is a licenced 150 bed hospital providing a broad range of multi-day and day surgeries including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT as well as the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. Our world-class private hospital attracts patients from across the greater Northern Territory, Western Australia, remote aboriginal communities and offshore.  We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients across the top end of Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a high standard of safe, evidence-based nursing care including, in-lab skills such as scrub, scout and haemodynamic monitoring of patients

  • Actively participate in quality improvement, safety and risk management initiatives which positively impact on patient care outcomes

  • Work collaboratively with the Cath Lab and wider healthcare teams

  • Mentor Graduate Nurses and students on clinical rotation

  • Supporting our community via an On-Call roster for after hours, weekends and public holidays.

 Essential criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA (no restrictions)

  • Bachelor of Nursing Science equivalent

  •  Flexibility to work across a range of shifts and be on call

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality patient care

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a high functioning team

  • Possess the desire, energy, motivation and initiative to work in a busy high acuity unit

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Sound computer skills

  • Experience in Cath Lab as a Registered Nurse (desired but not essential)

  • Post Graduate Qualifications in Cardiac care or working towards (desired but not essential)

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope Darwin Private Hospital Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2024 Salary range: $40.48 - $54.60 per hour plus allowances.
