    About the role

    Brisbane Private Hospital is looking for a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to join our established Intensive Care Unit on a permanent part time basis – 24 to 36 hours per week.

    We are a 7-bed, Intensivist led ICU department, with a dedicated ICU Educator and effective staff education/support plans in place.

    Set at the top of Wickham Terrace, Brisbane’s busiest medical precinct, above the Roma Street Parklands in the heart of the CBD, Brisbane Private Hospital is an acute and rehabilitation hospital with 181 beds, 17 operating theatres and dedicated surgical, ICU and rehabilitation wards. Brisbane Private Hospital specialises in Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal, ENT, Pain and Rehabilitation with additional specialties including Plastics, General Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Brisbane Private Hospital also delivers a leading private drug and alcohol program, Damascus Health Services, from its dedicated drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit.

    As the Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:

    ·         Deliver quality-nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individual patient care

    ·         Provide a standard of care according to the individuals’ level of experience and education maintaining high quality nursing care within a safe environment

    ·         Develop and utilise strategies that encourage an atmosphere conducive to effective communication

    ·         Work in partnership with patients and families in decision-making regarding provision of care promoting beneficial relationships 

    Essential Criteria:

    ·       Current Registration with AHPRA

    ·       Post Graduate Certificate in ICU/CCU Nursing (or working towards)

    ·       A minimum of 2 years post graduate experience within an ICU/Critical Care environment

    ·       Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality patient care

    ·       Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills

    ·       Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

    ·       Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development 

    ·       Flexible to work rotating shifts

    ·       Intermediate computer skills

    Remuneration: If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope-Queensland-Nurses Enterprise Agreement 2021 (salaries range between $41.49/hr - $52.97/hr for Registered Nurses)
