Registered Mental Health Nurses – Windsor Road Private Clinic

 

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for innovative and dynamic Registered Mental Health Nurses to join the Windsor Road Private Clinic’s Mental Health team at The Hills Private Hospital. These role require strong clinical leadership, exceptional organisational skills and well developed clinical experience in mental health. Permanent full-time, part-time and casual positions are available working, 7-day-a-week rosters, including weekends and night duty.

 

The Hills Private Hospital is a 111-bed private hospital located in the Hills District of Sydney, consisting of 86 Rehab and 25 mental health beds. As part of The Hills Private Hospital, Windsor Road Private Clinic plays a central role in delivering specialised mental health care.

 

Windsor Road Private Clinic provides inpatient and day treatment programs for mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD, anger management, emotional disorders and medically assisted detoxification from alcohol and other substances, as well as in orthopaedics, neurological, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Our Windsor Road Private Clinic multi-disciplinary team includes Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physicians, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists and Dieticians who all have a major input into the treatment and ongoing management of our patients.

 

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

·         Planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with individuals/patients/their families and the multidisciplinary team so as to achieve identified recovery goals and health outcomes

·         Take a case management role in the coordination of nursing care and work in partnership with Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) providing supervision, direction and guidance

·         Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, attending ward rounds and other relevant MDT meetings

·         Take a recovery focused approach to achieving collaborative recovery goals and health outcomes with our patients

·         Have a proactive role in quality improvement, modelling exemplary practice in Mental Health Nursing

·         A comprehensive understanding and experience in basic assessments and interventions in Mental Health and interventions in Alcohol and Drugs, with demonstrable experience in the same field

·         Advocating patient needs and recovery goals

·         Work with family and carers of patients towards achieving long term relapse prevention strategies

·         Providing education, support and guidance to individuals / patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs

 

Essential Criteria:

·         Registered with AHPRA

·         Minimum 3 years’ experience in Mental Health nursing

·         Postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health / or be working towards post graduate qualifications in mental health or Recovery in Addiction, either independently or as a provisional development plan with Windsor Road Private Clinic.

·         Have knowledge, experience and an understanding of how to conduct a comprehensive mental health assessment and risk management.

·         Have an understanding of continuous improvement, WH&S and risk management

·         A strong commitment to customer service and quality outcomes

·         Computer literate

·         Ability to work with the team environment

·         Promote internal education and preceptorship

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF - NSW Nurses and Midwives' - Enterprise Agreement 2024, a salary ranging from $43.34 - $54.89 per hour.
