Are you a Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a passion for delivering high quality patient care?
 
Nepean Private Hospital is looking to employ full time, part time and casual Theatre Nurses for their Perioperative Unit in the area's of Anaesthetics and Recovery, Scrub / Scout and the Angiography Suite. Suitable applicants with the right clinical background are encouraged to apply.



As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will be to:
  • Deliver evidence based nursing care
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members 


Nepean Private Hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith.  The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. Nepean Private Hospital has eight operating Theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.

Selection Criteria:
  • Current unconditional Registration with AHPRA and ability to work within Australia
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)
  • Recent experience in the Operating Suite within an acute care facility (experience in both Scrub and Scout roles preferred.  Experience in Cardiac Hybrid Lab or Angio Labs highly desired)
  • Advanced Life Support (an advantage)
  • Understanding of the Australian College of Perioperative Nurses (ACORN) Standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service standards
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team structure
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment
  • Be a role model for safe practice and be committed to high quality patient care
  • Basic computer skills



If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current HSP & NSWNA/ANF Nurses 2015-2019 Enterprise Agreement.

 

Successful applicants are required to provide evidence of a current Criminal History Record Check (within last 12 months), a Working with Children Check, Health Medical assessment and immunisation assessment prior to commencement.
