Paediatric Ward: Registered Nurse | Northern Beaches Hospital | Permanent Full time/Part Time – 12 hour shifts  

  • Northern Beaches Paediatric service is dynamic Level 4 service caring for neonates, children and adolescents and their families. 
  • The Paediatric ward is a 24-bed unit caring for a variety of presentations including medical, surgical, ENT, orthopedic and mental health.
  • The Paediatric team are dynamic, collaborative and forward thinking. 
  • We are looking for Registered Nurses to join this team on a permanent full time or part time basis.
  • A rotating roster of 12 hour shifts supports life/work balance.

About Paediatrics
The paediatric ward is an 18-bed inpatient unit providing specialised medical & surgical care to infants, children & adolescents. The inpatient beds are complimented by a 6-bay day-short stay area, total of 24 beds in this unit. NBH offers a variety of paediatric services including, but not limited to respiratory, surgical, orthopaedic, mental health, chronic and complex and day surgery. 

Opportunities exist to be involved in the care of paediatric patients through Outpatient clinics (Paediatric Ambulatory Care Service), Special Care Nursery & the Emergency Department.
The ward consists of a mix of single & double rooms and has modern playrooms & courtyards built into the design. This creates a bright and pleasant environment for both our patients and staff.  You will have experience incorporating very sound clinical skills in paediatric care and enjoy interacting positively with people and families.

You will bring to our high-performing team:

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Post Graduate qualification in paediatrics (or willingness to undertake)
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
  • Passion for delivering quality patient-centred care to neonates, children, adolescents and their families

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024, a salary ranging from $34.59 - $48.48 per hour.

Staff and visitors is our highest priority. Applicants will be required to provide a current (12 months or less) National Police check and a NSW Working with Children’s Check, prior to appointment and persons in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases prior to commencement.
