Are you a Registered Nurse/Midwife with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a passion for delivering high quality patient care? Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses/Midwives for their Special Care Nursery on a casual basis.

Established in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 340-bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.

With 22 operating theatres, Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, 24/7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care, and Oncology.

The Department

Our maternity unit is a 25-bed post/antenatal/gynaecology ward with 5 birthing suite rooms. Supporting this service is a 9-bed level 4 Special Care Nursery.  

Your duties will include:

·        Monitoring Neonates and recording observations

·        Daily care of babies in SCN

·        Supporting and assisting with feeding of babies

·        Supporting families with bonding during their stay

·        Use of CPAP equipment

·        Ability to work shift work

Essential Criteria:

·        Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA

·        Minimum of 2 years Neonatal nursing level 4 nursery experience

·        Demonstrated ability to work independently and unsupervised in the Special Care Nursery

·        CPAP competent

·        Commitment to Quality Patient Care

·        Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

·        Sound clinical decision making and problem-solving skills

·        Excellent communication and customer service skills

·        Works well independently and within a team Intermediate computer skills

Desirable Criteria:

·       Post graduate qualifications in Neonatal nursing (or working towards)
