Area Manager (In-Home Disability Services)

At the Healthscope Independence Services (HIS), we are seeking a passionate and experienced Area manager to lead our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) apartment services operating within the NDIS.

·       Permanent, Full Time

·       Classification: Level 6 – (Pay point will be determined based on experience and qualifications).

·       Work Location: Metro Melbourne and Geelong

About the Role 

This key leadership role will report to the Director, Client Services. The area manager will be required to support a team of team leaders across SDA apartment sites. Oversee the delivery of high‑quality concierge and planned support services aligned with NDIS practice standards. This role will collaborate closely with internal teams to maintain service continuity and positive client outcomes.

A typical day may include:

  •  Providing leadership and guidance to Team Leaders, offering expert advise, coaching, and support to ensure highquality service delivery.

  • Overseeing daily operational requirements, including staffing levels, roster management, and ensuring houses meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.

  • Supporting clientcentred practice, including oversight of client intake, assessments, referrals, and ensuring smooth admission processes.

  • Monitoring compliance and quality, such as staff training, documentation, audits, and continuous improvement activities across the service.

  • Managing financial and business performance, including oversight of budgets, reporting, and supporting Supervisors to meet financial responsibilities.

  • Driving team development, through mentoring, performance discussions, onboarding new Supervisors, and fostering a positive, valuesdriven culture.

  •  Promoting safety and risk management, responding to incidents, supporting wellbeing initiatives, and ensuring staff have the training and tools to work safely.

To be considered for this role you will have: 

  • Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services or Aged Care

  • Strong understanding of SDA, SIL, and NDIS Quality & Safeguarding frameworks.

  • Proven experience in SDA or residential disability leadership

  • Excellent communication, written, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, conflict and negotiations and comfort making decisions that balance risk, client outcomes and commercial/strategic issues.

  • Ability to mentor and coach staff to ensure best practice service delivery is achieved.
