Sterilising Technician (Endoscopy)
We are seeking a full time Sterilisation Technician to join the new Northern Beaches Hospital.
You will make an impact by undertaking general and specialised duties in cleaning, disinfection, and preparation of endoscopy scopes in our endoscopy unit within the operating theatre.
As the Endoscopy Scope Cleaner your responsibilities will include:
- Manual and automated cleaning, disinfection, and inspection of endoscopy scopes and accessories
- Comply with AS/NZ 5369:2023, and GENCA standards
- Operate and maintain endoscope reprocessing equipment including automated endoscope reprocesses (AERs)
- Report and document all quality activities
- Ensure priority of instrumentation and processes
- Maintain the CSD area and equipment in accordance with Standards
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities
- Assist with management of general stock.
Northern Beaches Hospital is a fully licensed private hospital providing world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 state-of-the-art theatres including cardiac catheter labs, world-class education centre, doctors lounge and excellent staff facilities including café and car parking.
The Endoscopy unit contains state of the art equipment and provides a contemporary sterile processing service.
You will bring to our high-performing team:
- Prior experience in Endoscope reprocessing within an Endoscopy Department
- GENCA Endoscope Reprocessing Certificate or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of AS/NZS 5369:2023 (cleaning, disinfection and high-level reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and maintenance of associated environments in health care facilities)
- Track record of prioritising workload demands
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team as well as independently
- Demonstrated knowledge of manual handling principles and techniques and ability to perform manual handling activities
- Committed to the delivery of customer service in a health care setting
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility in rostering.
