Northern Beaches Hospital has developed a great team and working culture within our Wardspersons Department. We are now seeking a Supervisor to lead our wardspersons team.

Your Role:
As a Wardpersons Supervisor, you will be deployed throughout the hospital to provide non-clinical support to the nursing team, including patient lifting, patient transportation, restocking supplies, collecting and delivering equipment and specimens, training new staff members, and maintaining and ordering equipment, as well as roster and staffing management.

The following shift:

  • AM shift 7:00- 15:06

Your role will include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of equipment to meet infection control requirements
  • Providing transportation of patients in beds, trolleys and wheelchairs in a safe manner, treating all with respect and dignity at all times
  • Delivering effective internal courier service
  • Providing an outstanding customer experience and ensuring quality of service.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of equipment to meet infection control requirements

Your Capabilities

  • Previous experience working in a patient-related environment
  • Knowledge of manual handling principles and techniques, and the ability to perform manual handling activities
  • Ability to cope with the physical demands of constant manual handling
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team as well as independently
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in an organised manner
  • Flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating roster.
