Nepean Private Hospital is seeking a Theatre Clerk to join our theatre team on a full-time basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure our patients have a great experience during their care.
About us
Nepean Private Hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics.
Nepean Private Hospital has ten operating Theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.

As a Theatre Clerk, your responsibilities will include:
· Greet all customers with care and compassion, so that patients and families feel comfortable during their hospital stay
· Work collaboratively with nursing staff and Perioperative Services Manager
· Preparation of patient files, appointment lists and coordination with other ward clerks to obtain ward patient files
· Medical record filing
· Providing clerical support to the clinical team
· Liaison with allied health, wards persons and other hospital departments when required to facilitate patient treatments or transfers
Essential Criteria:
· Previous experience in a medical environment
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
· Good oral and written communication skills
· Well organised, able to prioritise, plan ahead and work under pressure
· Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
· Ability to work autonomously in a self-directive environment
Desirable criteria:
· Experience with medical terminology
· Experience with Webpass Medical System
· Experience in ward environment
