About the opportunity

Join the team at Gold Coast Private Hospital as a Theatre Orderly! We're looking for an experienced professional to bring their skills to our team on a part-time basis.
In this role, you will provide exceptional non-clinical patient care, support the nursing team, and contribute to a positive patient experience. We offer a supportive environment where our teams work closely to achieve the best patient outcomes and high standards of care.

Established in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 340-bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.

With 22 operating theatres, Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, 24/7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care, and Oncology.

As a Theatre Admissions/Postoperative Anaesthetic Recovery Unit, your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient assistance and transfers including the use of Wheelchairs, lifting machines and bed movers
  • Preoperative preparation of the patient as per surgical VMO requirements
  • General housekeeping duties e.g. cleaning beds, organising linen, restocking of equipment, and waste management 
  • Remove dirty linen / ensure clean linen is readily available
  • Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
  • Cultivating a hospitable and friendly environment for all patients
  • Work as an active team member to support all work tasks

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Authority to Work in Australia
  • Cert 4 Assistant in Nursing/patient services or working towards
  • Experience as an Orderly in a hospital environment preferred
  • Vaccination and serology records prior to commencement
  • Working with Children check
  • Commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to prioritise and organise work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • High level attention to detail
