Nepean Private Hospital are seeking a full time Operating Suite Orderly Team Leader to join their supportive team. As an Orderly Team Leader your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordination of theatre orderlies on shifts
  • Working as an active member of the team
  • Provide orderly services in a timely and effective manner within the department
  • Providing the team with leadership and support during shifts
  • Flexible to work across both AM and PM shifts

Nepean Private Hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: Orthopaedics, Spinal, Gynaecology, ENT, Plastics, Urology, General Surgery, Endoscopy, Cardiology, Cardiac Angiography and Obstetrics. Nepean Private Hospital has eight Operating Rooms, one Hybrid/Cardiac Catheterisation Lab and an Endoscopy suite, supported by a Critical Care unit which includes Intensive Care.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous Orderly experience within and Operating Suite environment is essential (minimum of 2 years)
  • Tertiary qualifications such as Certificate IV in relevant field
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Positive and resilient nature
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team structure

  • The ability to act in a professional manner at all times when dealing with clients, their families and colleagues and an understanding of confidentiality

  • Knowledge of manual handling techniques involved in lifting and transferring patients and the use of specialist lifting devices.

  • The ability to maintain safety standards and adhere to guidelines, policies and procedures

  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills as well as an ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment

  • Flexibility, reliability and ability to work under pressure

Successful applicants are required to provide evidence of a satisfactory current Criminal History Record Check (within last 12 months), a Working with Children Check, Health Medical assessment and Immunisation assessment prior to commencement.


If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope - NSW Health Professionals & Support Services Agreement 2017 - 2021.
