The Opportunity

Peninsula Private Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Administration Team Leader to join & deliver exceptional customer service ensuring effective administration practices across the hospital. The position is responsible for management and leadership of consulting rooms and for the operation of organisational objectives, policies and procedures with the aim of meeting agreed standards in patient care, human resources and budgetary management.

As the Administration Team Leader your responsibilities will include:

  • The day to day running of the consulting rooms
  • The provision of accurate and timely financial, activity and consulting rooms data
  • Development of organisational systems to maximise productivity in the consulting rooms
  • The organisational review and personnel management function for the consulting rooms team as per Healthscope Policy
  • Continuous review of the operating environment including HIC opportunities, as per guidelines
  • Development of the staff to ensure a client service culture, in partnership with visiting medical staff
  • Understanding of appropriate IT policies, as per Healthscope Policy
  • Assume Administration Manager duties when they are on leave

With 70 inpatients Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation beds, a rehabilitation gym and 3 operating theatres, and major redevelopment underway for an additional theatre complex, day surgery unit and high dependency unit, located on the idyllic Redcliffe Peninsula our facility averages 760 admissions per month.

Essential Criteria:

  • 3+ years’ experience working within private health care with managerial responsibilities of a team.
  • Established planning and organisational skills; ability to implement process improvement
  • Knowledge of patient administration & admission systems
  • Knowledge of health fund / DVA / third party / workers compensation contracts
  • Efficient and effective rostering skills.
  • High level IT and Computer skills 
  • Advanced use of MS Office Suite
  • Well-developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Self-directed and motivated with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise
  • Previous experience with WebPAS 
  • Experience in managing/undertaking switchboard functions
  • Well-developed professional communication skills (written and spoken)
