Allied Health Assistant – Occupational Therapist - Permanent Part Time – 10 hrs per week/Level 1-3

Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Allied Health Assistant – Occupational Therapy (AHA-OT). As an AHA-OT you will provide high quality services and make an impact by assisting the Occupational Therapy team in clinical, operational and administrative tasks. The position will work under the direction of the Occupational Therapists and assist with day-to-day activity in all aspects of care. Selection Criteria:

• Certificate III/IV in Allied Health Assistance (Occupational Therapy or its equivalent)
• Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting, aged care or community setting
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Proven time management and organisational skills
• Advanced computer literacy skills including Microsoft applications
• High standards of customer service and team approach

Additional Criteria:

• Knowledge of Occupational Therapy role
• Experience of assistance with Activities of Daily Living
• Experience with equipment loan pool or maintenance
