Prince of Wales Private Hospital is seeking an experienced, self-starter, energetic and customer focused Billings Officer to join our Accounts team. Previous demonstrated experience as a Billings Clerk/Patients Accounts Clerk will be key for success in this role.
The Billings Officer has the responsibility of ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of the billing and debt collection functions of the hospital. As a billing clerk, you will liaise and communicate directly with patients, health funds, hospitals’ administration and hospitals’ management regarding patient account enquiries.

As a Billing Officer your responsibilities will include:
· Provide an exceptional billing service by maintaining accurate and efficient billing workflow processes in line with One Healthscope best practice
· Provide an exceptional collection service by maintaining efficient and effective collection workflow processes across Billing Health Funds, Workcover, DVA, Third Parties etc.
· Prioritise daily billing in line with KPIs, ensuring completion and accuracy of all relevant documentation, preparing and utilising billing data and reporting, and providing assistance as required.
· Prioritise the collection, follow-up and monitoring of debt in line with KPIs, preparing and utilising collection reporting, completing reconciliations including daily banking, and providing assistance as required.
Essential Criteria – please be advised this must be addressed in your application:
· Proven experience in billing services within the Health Industry
· High level of computer literacy is essential for this role
· Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to deadlines
· Knowledge on health funds, private billing and Medicare
· Experience in WebPas or other patient management/billing software
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
