Prince of Wales Private Hospital are seeking a highly passionate, dynamic and engaging Postnatal Ward Manager on a full-time basis, 12-month temporary contract 15 May 2025 to 15 June 2026 for our Postnatal Ward, to join our amazing team of highly trained midwives and nurses.

As a Postnatal Ward Manager your responsibilities will include:

  •          Providing operational direction for Birth Suite to ensure efficient and effective management
  •          Coordinating the delivery of midwifery care that is evidence based
  •          Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment
  •          Providing guidance, mentoring and support to your team
  •          Being accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources
  •          Undertaking direct midwifery care, as required
  •          Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National standards

Essential Criteria:

  •          Current Registration with AHPRA as a registered midwife with no restrictions
  •          Registered Midwife with at least 5 years’ experience
  •          Proven experience in building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
  •          Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
  •          Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
  •          Understand the requirements of private health funding
  •          A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
  •          High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
  •          Ability to work cohesively within a team environment

Desirable Criteria:

  •          Tertiary post graduate qualifications in Midwifery
  •          A demonstrated understanding of Work, Health and Safety legislation.
  •          A demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality improvement, change management, models of care, evidence based practice and practise development.

If successful, your pay will be based on EBA 23 - Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF — NSW Nurses’ & Midwives’ Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024 with an hourly rate ranging between $62.46- $67.18 per hour.
