About the role

The Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist to join our Allied Health team on a casual basis.

This opportunity will see you work across a diverse mix of inpatient rehabilitation cases including medical, orthopaedic, neurological, reconditioning and geriatric patients. You may also care for acute inpatients, day rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation and conduct home visits.

As a Speech Pathologist, you will work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and efficient services and exceptional patient care.

As a Speech Pathologist your key responsibilities will include: 

·       Provision of speech pathology assessment

·       treatment and discharge planning for acute hospital inpatients as well as rehabilitation inpatients and day patients

·       Clinical documentation and report writing are to be of the highest standard

·       Compliance with hospital policy and procedure

·       Participation in audits and service improvement activities is also required

About you:

·       To be successful in your application, you will need to meet the requirements below:

·       A degree in Speech Pathology

·       Previous acute hospital experience

·       Eligibility for membership to Speech Pathology Australia

·       Modified barium swallow and tracheostomy management experience

·       Exceptional time management and communication skills

·       Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

·       Commitment to professional development
